Lavender

I though I would highlight some of the benefits of one of the essential oils I use in my soaps.

It is probably one of the most favoured oils and is constantly in the top 10.

You’ve guessed it…Lavender or by its botanical name Lavandula angustifolia. (although there are other names as there are slightly different varieties).

Pure Lavender essential oil has been used for hundreds of years and is grown around the world. The plant is so popular that it’s name now represents the purple colour from which it is so easily identified

Lavender Oil is floral, fresh, sweet, herbaceous and sometimes slightly fruity.

It is well know for its sedative properties, its ability to help calm stress and anxiety and to promote sleep

Its great for minor cuts and scrapes because it is anti bacterial. It can also be used for a variety of purposes around the home and  blends well with other fragrances as I have done within my range of soaps.

It’s because of all this that lavender is one of the most sought after essential oils on the market.

As with all essential oils you must consult a doctor or qualified aromatherapist before using if you have any medical conditions or are pregnant but Lavender when properly diluted is one of the safest of essential oils.

I do 3 different natural soaps that use Lavender. Simply Lavender, Lavender & Lemongrass and Lavender & Rosemary. I'm sure there's one that takes your fancy.
